Our mission is to provide quick response non-medical services to members of the Detroit community, with a focus on roadside assistance and other instances where unexpected assistance is needed.
Flat tires, dead batteries, out of gas, car just won't start. Give us a call and we'll happily give you a hand and get you back on your way. Our volunteers usually respond in the Oak Park / Southfield area in under 10 minutes.
Wait...did I lock my keys in the car? Am I locked out of my house? No worries, we have a professional locksmith on hand to help you out.
When the power goes out, lots of things can fail. Medical equipment and heating might stop working. Basements can start flooding. We provide emergency generators to help you through these though situations.
Detroit's chapter of Chaverim was founded in 2013 by a few individuals who wanted to give to the community in a unique way. Since then we have grown to over a dozen well equipped volunteers who strive to help. In 2018 Chaverim expanded its services to provide generators for power outages, and we hope to add more services down the road.
Chaverim has a board of directors who can be contacted here, and is endorsed by the Vaad HaRabonim of Detroit.
Dedicated members and quality equipment help us respond faster and more effectively. If you are driven to help others in a quiet but meaningful way, we invite you to apply to Chaverim or to help by donating.
